Extinction Rebellion Protest at Oxford Circus – Day II

They’re still here, despite police advising they would leave by 1900 on Monday the demonstrators are still occupying Oxford Circus, preventing traffic from crossing this usually busy thoroughfare.

Whilst the atmosphere is currently quieter and a bit subdued the demonstrators are still handing out leaflets and explaining what their aims are. Upon asking one of them how long she thought they would occupying Oxford Circus for she replied “two weeks or until the government did something about climate change” I asked if there was a third option and she smiled and said “or until they move us along!

Regardless of how long they remain at Oxford Circus they seem to be well prepared, with cooking facilities, toilets, facilities for washing clothes and tents!
