Extinction Rebellion – Weekend Activies

Being out of London over the Easter weekend I had to rely on the media for updates about the rebellion. I’ve provided links to the various articles I read and photographs seen.

I heard on Friday that campaigning was going to take place at Heathrow
airport, however only 20 or so campaigners took part, their attempt to block was prevented by police. You can read more on The Guardian website here. On Saturday I read how the campaigners had been moved on from Oxford Circus. The Guardian article can be seen at this link it featured a photograph of the boat in Oxford Circus surrounded by police, which can be seen here.

Waterloo Bridge was cleared of activists by Sunday evening, the police urging them to move to Marble Arch which is the designated protest area. The brige was open to traffic by Sunday evening, more can be read about this here. Roads around Parliament Square were also cleared of protesters on Sunday too.
It’s not over….
